Dyno testing at BR-Performance Belgium

Many tuners use their dyno as an advertising stunt, or just to print a sheet with the power before and after the tune. For us, the dyno is much more than that. It’s an essential tool, like a doctor’s stethoscope: you can’t tune an engine properly without it.

Why we measure the whole rev range

We don’t only chase a peak figure. We want the engine to work better at every engine speed. That’s why we measure power and torque across the whole rev range. This also lets us adjust many settings to match the way you drive.

Our equipment

DYNOSTAR 4x4 dyno

Measures up to 1,341 hp
Accurate to within 1%
Four-wheel drive, so it suits both 2WD and 4WD cars

Rucon airflow system

Some high-performance engines, such as the BMW M3 V8, only reach full power at high speed, when air is forced into the engine by the car’s motion. To recreate this on the dyno, we use a Rucon system with:

two 22 kW fans (60 hp in total)
up to 80,000 m³ of air per hour
airflow equal to driving at 200 km/h

Your engine gets the same airflow and cooling as on the road, so the results reflect real driving conditions.

How it works

Baseline run: we measure your car’s real power and torque before any change.
Custom tune: we adjust the software to your engine and your driving needs.
Final run: we measure again to confirm the gains across the whole rev range.
Your results: you get the before-and-after power graph.
